  1. Copy/Paste the below command in the Windows PowerShell and hit enter.

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name windows.immersivecontrolpanel | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}

2. Wait for the command to run and reboot your computer.

After running the PowerShell script, reboot your computer and check if the Windows Update option coming up. If the issue remains, you can proceed with the further resolution steps.

Edit Group Policy to fix Windows Update missing issue:

If the Settings page visibility is set to enabled, you may encounter the issue with Windows Update missing from Settings. This might happen with any third-party program installed in the computer. Therefore, refer the below steps to disable the Settings page visibility option.

  1. Press Windows logo + R keys to open RUN window, type gpedit.msc and hit enter.

2. It will open the Local Group Policy Editor window.

3. Navigate to the location Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel and double click on Settings Page Visibility option.

4. Set the option to Disabled. Likewise, click on Apply and then OK.

After this, reboot your computer. You will now be able to find the Windows Update option in the Settings App. As a result, you can check for the updates and install them without any error further.
